Sheahan Thomas, GCSG, GCHS

1922 – 1996.  Architect from Limerick. The Sheahan name has been synonymous with architecture since 1919 when Tom’s uncle Patrick J, KSS, set up practice. He designed the altar for the papal visit of Saint John Paul 11 in 1979. Redesigned the high altar of St John’s Cathedral in Limerick. Designed buildings in Ireland, Cyprus and Nigeria. Involved with Limerick Youth Service. First Lieutenant Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem in Ireland  and was one of 12 who served subsequently  on the Grand Magisterium in Rome. Governor Thomand College of Education. Director Great Southern Hotels.  Admitted as a member of the Order of Malta in 1976.
