P (ascal) V Doyle, a Dubliner born in 1923 who died in 1988. He was a hotelier, builder and entrepreneur. He served as chairman of the Dublin Diocesan Finance Committee. Amongst his other pro bono appointments were that of board member of the Meath Hospital & chairman Bord Failte. His first Doyle Hotel, The Montrose, was built in Stillorgan, Dublin in 1964. The award was conferred in Apostolic Nunciature by Nuncio Alibrandi in September 1984. Dame Bernadette Greevy, DCHS, holder of the Pontifical Medal Pro Ecclessia et Pontifice sang at the funeral.
