Member of the Western Health Board for 20 years. President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland 1964 – 1966, Fellow of the Society 1974, Council member with 30 years service. Member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. For 21 years Chairman of the Mayo Handball Board. Best amateur actor of 1971. Died in Charlestown on 8 May, 2002 and buried there.
