1904 -1976. Army Officer. Aide de Camp to President De Valera (Supreme Order of Christ). Part of delegation that accompanied President de Valera on State visit to Holy Father in March 1962. One of three Irishmen to be awarded membership of the Order in the Military Division. Born in Dundrum, Dublin. He entered the Forces on 19 November, 1935 when he was commissioned at the rank of Capt. He was appointed Aide to An tUachtaran 25 June, 1959 having previously served as Aide to An Taoiseach 1940-1947. He retired on 18 July, 1973 and died suddenly in March, 1976.and was buried in Bohernabreena where other papal knights are interred, including Michael Harrington KCSG, Sylvester Muldowney, KCSG and Sean Bedford, KSG.
