1920 – 2011. Draper and tailor, Trustee of the Knights of St Columbanus, alumini of Castleknock College. Convenor Pro-Life Campaign, Member Commission of the Laity. His passion for motorcars and all things motoring was legendary. He became a motorist at the tender age of 8 years albeit driving in a straight line. His other great interest being the Cinema in his youth he was Cavan’s unofficial film critic. He also excelled at wood work and marquetry.After his formal education he decided to do a little travelling which brought him across Europe where he developed a great love of Formula 1 racing. In fact at one time he was in the pit in 1951 as assistant to one of the world's greatest racing drivers of the 20th century Argentinian Juan Manuel Fangio. He was a founder member of Cavan Chamber of Commerce, serving on the National Council of the Association of Chambers of Commerce of Ireland, Cavan Social Services Council, Cavan Credit Union, Cavan Vintage Motor Club and Co Cavan Motor Club. He was among those who were behind the setting up of Northern Sound Radio in 1989.
