1908 – April, 1995, Sylvester, or “Vesty” was one of seven children born to Patrick and Mary Muldowney. Dublin and lived in 525 South Circular Road. After his marriage he resided at 13 Fortfield Drive, Dublin 6w with his wife Mary Harvey and his five children. He qualified as a chartered accountant and set up a practice with a colleague Harry Grant and this was known as Muldowney Grant & Co. He later amalgamated with Oliver Freaney & Co. in the early 1970s.He was educated in Synge Street and was a keen sportsman. He was long jump champion in 1926. He played hurling for Dublin and spoke a lot of the time they were successful in getting to the final in 1934 and drew with Limerick but were subsequently beaten in the replay much to his lament! A member of the Grange Golf Club, he was on the board of a number of businesses in Dublin. Chairman of the National Executive Fine Gael, chairman St Joseph’s Hospital Raheny. Board member Central Bank Ireland, Newman Payne John Sheil of Moore Street Chair Board of Governors St Joseph's Hospital Raheny He was on the Carmelites business board and the award was presented in Terenure College by Bishop Brendan Comiskey of Ferns. Buried in Bohernabreena Cemetery as was Col Sean Brennan, KCSG.
